Tasty Tailgating Brats

Our Purnell’s Old Fashioned Cooked Bratwurst, white onion, beer and buns. Grill 'em up this summer. It's Gooo-od!

Directions

Before the Tailgate:

A day or two before the tailgate, chop the onion and place in a pot with the beer and bring it to a boil. Then add the brats and turn the heat down to medium-low and let the brats for around ten-fifteen minutes. After they are boiled, put the brats into a freezer bag and place them in the refrigerator or cooler.

At the tailgate, cook the brats over a low to medium hot grill and keep flipping the brats until both sides are golden brown. Be careful not to let the brats burn or split or you will lose some of the great-tasting flavor.

Brats really retain heat so let them cool a couple of minutes before you bite into them. Serve brats on buns with sauerkraut, onions, green peppers, ketchup, and/or mustard.
