Stomboli
Our Sausage & Pepper Stromboli is the perfect change of pace for your usual pizza night.
Directions
Preheat oven to 400ºF.
Cook the sausage with the bell pepper and onion until the sausage has browned and the veggies are softened.
Remove from heat and drain off any excess fat.
Roll out one pizza dough onto a piece of parchment paper.
Spread half of the sausage mixture over half of the dough and top with a cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
Fold the sides of the dough in towards the filling and then lift the parchment paper to allow the dough to roll over the filling. Try to guide it and wrap the Stromboli as tight as possible.
Pinch the edges to seal in all the filling.
Flip the dough so that the pinched seam is on the bottom.
Repeat to create the 2nd Stromboli.
Move the Stromboli while on the parchment paper to a sheet pan and bake for 18 – 20 minutes, until golden.
While the Stromboli bakes, melt one tablespoon of butter in a small saucepan with the garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add a pinch of salt and the chopped parsley.
Brush the garlic butter over the Stromboli and place back into the oven for an additional 2 – 3 minutes.
Remove from the oven, allow to cool for a couple of minutes then slice and serve with marinara.
