Spicy Egg in the Basket with Sausage

Bread, eggs, butter, Purnell's Original Country Sausage (Medium) patties, hot sauce and syrup. This recipe is Gooo-od!


Warm skillet over medium heat on stove. Add sausage and cook thoroughly. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Butter both sides of each slice of bread and cut out a hole in the center. Add slice of bread to skillet and allow bread to cook for 1-2 minutes.

Place sausage in center of bread slice and liberally dash with hot sauce. Crack egg on top of the hole.

Allow to cook for 2-3 minutes, or until egg has set. Lift a corner of the bread slice to ensure bread is golden and then flip over to cook the remaning side.

After egg has cooked to your liking, remove from skillet. Repeat process with remaining ingredients.

Drizzle with syrup and hot sauce. Enjoy!


  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Purnell’s Original Country Sausage (Medium) patties
  • Hot sauce (we like Siracha for extra kick!)
  • Syrup
