Sausage Shells with Greens

Our Purnell's Italian Sausage, kale, vegetable stock, onion, garlic and Parmesan cheese over pasta shells. This simple recipe is Gooo-od!


Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add pasta. Cook until al dente and drain, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water. Set aside.

Cook kale or rabe in vegetable stock and pasta water for 8-10 minutes, until softened.

In a large skillet, crumble and heat sausage until browned and cooked thoroughly. Remove sausage and add onions to skillet. Sauté until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes more, until fragrant.

Combine pasta with sausage mixture and greens. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.


  • 1 lb. Purnell’s Italian Sausage
  • 1 box shell pasta
  • 1 bunch of kale, stemmed and chopped
  • 1 cup vegetable stock
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 Tbs garlic, minced
  • Parmesan cheese, grated
