Grits and Sausage
Directions
Ingredients
1lb Purnell’s “Old Folks” Medium Pork Sausage
4 cups water
1 cup of grits
Maple syrup (optional)
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup cornmeal
Directions
Add grits to boiling water, cook 4 minutes. Add cornmeal, mix thoroughly. Crumble and fry sausage until done; drain off fat. Add to grits mixture. Put in loaf pan and chill over night. Cut into 3/4 inch slices and fry on both sides until brown. Serve plain or with syrup.
