Surveys have continuously shown that pasta is one of the world’s favorite foods. Not only because it’s inexpensive and easy to make, but also because it can be used in many different, but equally delicious, meals. Not to mention it stocks you up on those energy producing carbohydrates while filling up your stomach.
Pasta comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, either freshly made or dried for a longer storage time. When choosing which type to use in a recipe, keep in mind that simple sauces work best with the thinner strands, while tomato based sauces are better with thicker pastas. For chunkier sauces use a pasta that it will easily cling to, like the holes and cuts of short, tubular, or twisted pastas.
