Grits and Sausage

Made with Purnell's “Old Folks” Medium Sausage

Ingredients:

  • 1lb Purnell’s “Old Folks” Medium Pork Sausage
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup of grits
  • Maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal

How to prepare:

Add grits to boiling water, cook 4 minutes. Add cornmeal, mix thoroughly. Crumble and fry sausage until done; drain off fat. Add to grits mixture. Put in loaf pan and chill over night. Cut into 3/4 inch slices and fry on both sides until brown. Serve plain or with syrup. Serves 6 to 8.
